Established in 2005

TMS Waterfront was founded in 2005 by Shea Thorvaldsen, as a vehicle for consulting in New York.  TMS supplies expertise and knowledge to solve waterfront problems by providing highly experienced, specialized managers, focused on specific projects and solutions for agencies, companies, owners, and engineers that do not possess an intimate knowledge of the waterfront.

Shea Thorvaldsen
Founder, Principal, and CEO

Shea has more than 20 years of marine, site, civil and geotechnical engineering for waterfront structures. His diverse background includes the management of numerous waterfront project components, involving resident engineering inspections, design-build, permitting, cost management, project scheduling, safety and punch list administration.
In his spare time, Shea is an avid sailboat racer, with 3 boats in his fleet; a certified rescue diver, enjoying wrecks off of the New Jersey Coast, and a board member for the Billion Oyster Project and the Harbor Foundation at Governor’s Island.
